The DLUHC (Diverse Leaders in Urban Housing and Communities) is proud to announce the addition of PRS Advisor and Generation Rent Activist, Joanna Smith, to their team. Joanna brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table, having worked in the housing sector for over 10 years.
As a PRS Advisor, Joanna has been instrumental in helping tenants and landlords understand their rights and responsibilities under the Private Rented Sector (PRS). She has also been a vocal advocate for tenants’ rights, campaigning for better regulation of the PRS and improved access to affordable housing.
In addition to her work as a PRS Advisor, Joanna is also an active member of Generation Rent, a national campaign group that works to improve the rights of renters. She has been involved in numerous campaigns, including calling for an end to no-fault evictions and for rent controls to be introduced to protect tenants from unfair rent increases.
Joanna’s expertise and passion for improving the lives of renters will be invaluable to the DLUHC. As part of her role, she will be working closely with local authorities and housing associations to ensure that tenants’ rights are respected and that they have access to quality, affordable housing. She will also be working with landlords to ensure that they are aware of their responsibilities under the PRS and that they are providing safe and secure homes for their tenants.
The DLUHC is delighted to welcome Joanna Smith to the team and looks forward to working with her to improve the lives of renters across the UK. With her knowledge and experience, she will be a great asset in helping to achieve our mission of creating safe, secure and affordable housing for all.
