Construction has begun on a new development at the former Transport Research Laboratory (TRL) site in Crowthorne, Berkshire. The development will include a mix of residential and commercial properties, as well as a new transport hub.
The TRL site has been vacant since its closure in 2014, but now it is being redeveloped by the Crowthorne Regeneration Partnership (CRP). The CRP is a joint venture between the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead and the Bracknell Forest Council.
The development will include up to 200 homes, a mix of retail and office space, a transport hub, and a public square. The transport hub will provide a connection to the nearby M4 motorway and will also serve as a hub for local bus services.
The development is part of a wider regeneration project for the area, which includes the construction of a new leisure centre, a new library, and a new health centre. The project is expected to create up to 1,000 jobs and bring in an estimated £50 million of investment over the next five years.
The development is also expected to benefit the local economy by providing more housing and commercial space. This will help to attract more businesses to the area, which will in turn create more jobs and help to boost the local economy.
The development is due to be completed by 2021 and is expected to be a major boost for the local area. It will provide much-needed housing and commercial space, as well as improved transport links. It is hoped that the development will help to revitalise the area and create a vibrant community for its residents.
